Omega Men #26 (May 1985)

Lonocelu of Rogue joined the Omega Men alongside Prince Ryand'r of Tamaran when both were selected from a field of trial applicants on Okaara. Elu was with the core team, led by Tigorr when they were ambushed by
Far away, on the Psion Wombworld, a being called Artin is watches everything. He sends a large spacefaring beast (a Viathan) to swallow the Spider-ship and Primus and brings them to Wombworld. (Omega Men Annual #2)

Nimbus reasons that because his touch tainted her eons ago. He hoped she'd overcome the darkness herself, but decides that he must reclaim it from her now himself and tries to reabsorb that evil. Nimbus' attempt generates a massive shockwave which waylays the helpless Omegan craft (containing Kalista, Tigorr and Harpis and new recruits Ryand'r and Elu). Even the aid of the Green Lantern of their sector does not save them. Ryand'r (their new communications specialist) manages to contact Doc on the second moon of Tamaran. Doc tells them that all Vegan worlds have fallen to the Spiders except Tamaran. The Omegans believe that Primus, too, was captured and is on Euphorix. Elu temporarily saves their ship by burning through the floor of the engine room to drain the acid collected. Ultimately, the Omegan ship swalled a mammoth Viathan and taken to the Psion Wombworld. At some point, they are all anesthetized. (Omega Men #26)

When the Omega Men reach the Axis of Wombworld, the Green Man begins exhibiting psionic powers. They learn many Psion secrets, like the fact that the Psions are limited to taking specimens who are presumed dead. They also learn a bit more about Artin, who became self aware when the Psions' data sysstems became too complex. Now sentient, Artin wants his freedom. In the Self-Center, they witness Psions' whose forebrain sleeps as their lower brain controls motor functions. There the Green Man finds his ring, which fails to work. The Omega Men hatch a plan to secure an escape ship and Kalista manfiests Multhus, the Ultimate Psion as a diversion. Elu is captured and Psion soldiers break his formidable shield; they call him "replusive." At last, Artin makes his move; he wakes Primus and reveales them to all.

On Changralyn, Broot again defies his people by releasing them from the Spiders' cocoons. (#29)

The Green Man receives a vision of the battered Elu and steps through a portal directly to him. Though severely injured, Elu insists that the Green Man must not see his true form. The confusion created by Artin allows the Omega Men to escape into a Viathan. They are joined by Artin, who admits to having tempered in their favor during the Psions' operations. Artin also reveals that the Psions in fact created many Vegan races, an Okaaran legend proved. And for his coup de grace, he reveals the Psions' origin to themselves, which they are unprepared to accept. Then the Artin's Viathan departs along with the Omega Men, Vegan refugees, the Tweeners and many Psion secrets. He heads for Refuge, a secret haven which he's been preparing. Elu is placed in a healing tank. Artin also creates a new Omegan command ship. (#30)

Tigorr and Ryand'r tend to one of the Viathans which accompany them, which is dying. There they find dying capsules containing former Vegan captives. All have died save two. Tigorr admits to Ryand'r that though he'd always loved Harpis, Demonia (in life and death) had kept them apart. Back on the Command Ship, the Green Man mentally soothes Elu while Artin performs critical surgery. (#31)

Elu emerges renewed from his healing tank. Thanks to the Green Man, he believes that none have witnessed his true form. Tigorr brings the two surviving Vegans from the Viathan onboard: Oho-Besh, a minstrel from Changralyn, and Yndamaati, Kalista's niece from Euphorix. Artin brings them to Refuge, an artificial moon he has secretly been building above the planet Kuraq. Dorg emerges as leader of the refugees, dissenting and asking why go to wild Kuraq when the moon is inhabitable? Tigorr replies that the refugees must take hold of their own destiny. There the Green Man receives a mental message for Primus from Nimbus. Nimbus explains how he unsuccessfully tried to strip away X'Hal's evil. In retaliation, she used the chaotic energies of the emerging universal Crisis and trapped him between six other-dimensional worlds. These worlds combined to form the new world, Kuraq. Ryand'r also receives a message: from his sister Koriand'r on Tamaran. And on New Alliance, Harry Hokum receives Rynoc and the others. Shlagen fearfully reveals to Harry Hokum that the Omega Men are no more. (OM 33)

Auron attacks Omega Men in space near Tamaran, and severely burns Ynda. Then he heralds X'Hal's return to the faithful Tamaraneans and sets up a conflict, saying that the Omega Men have been brainwashed and are bent on harming X'Hal. When the Omega Men's ship approaches the planet Komand'r disrupts its systems, incapacitating Artin in the process. Elu pushes his force field over Artin's head, severing his connection to the ship. From there, Primus commands the ship to a bumpy landing (aided by Koriand'r). The ship crashes into the Omega Men's own memorial. In the Diwrnos system., the site of the Refuge and Kuraq, Harpis reveals to Tigorr that her body is atrophying as a result of the Psions' tampering. On Kuraq, the refugee Dorg emerges as a leader. (OM 34)

Elu seeks advice from Nightwing; he has become concerned about his friendship with Ryand'r since Ynda entered the picture. Elu explains that since people of his kind do not have sexual relationships, friendship is their strongest bond. Artin removes a block in Kalista prohibiting her desire-invoking powers. As a result, she can now use this, or her fear-invoking power. Artin then reveals an ancient machine called the Orlac Device which was once part of Wombworld's power supply and is rumored to be from the Psion lab where X'Hal was created. The Omegans trap Auron in an infinity loop then the Green Man uses his teleportation powers to deliver the Orlac Device into X'Hal's hands. This disperses her essence throughout Vega. They release Auron, who departs in grief. Meanwhile, "Gosh" Jargun of the Tweener Network broadcasts it all.
On New Alliance, Zirral is forced to make the difficult decision to sleep with Harry Hokum in order to free her fellow Omegans. Despite this, Hokum sends them and his Gordanian guard, Uhlan to Slagg as an offering to the Spider Guild Strand Captain. The Strand Captain scares Shlagen into a coma, which appears to be death to the others. (OM 35)

Primus and Artin undergo a procedure to finally separate their psyches. Artin is placed in a not-yet-complete android body. Once the Omegans finish deploying teleportation satellites above Vegan worlds, Primus and Kalista depart for Euphorix, bent on liberating their homeworld. The Green Man too departs when he receives a mental message from Nimbus on Kuraq. He steps through a portal to and arrives in time to help Tigorr and Harpis complete their exploration of Kuraq's six segments; they find the perfect land for Omegan refugess to colonize. With Artin at less than full ability, Elu alone remains when the Psions attack the Omega ship. Elu overcomes great fear to drop his force field and operate the ship's controls. On Karna, Lobo finally completes his contract and executes his former partner, Bedlam. (OM 37)

Led by Tigorr, the Omega Men continued to battle the Spider Guild. The core group acquired five new freedom fighters: the Seer, a precognitive whose brain is housed inside a spider-like armor; Dark Flea, who was probably the robotic-looking insect. The other three were named but not clearly identified. Of Cecilia, Chantal and Vandal, one was a reptilian woman resembling Demonia; one a tiny woman with bow and arrow; and the other a masked spectral being. This band — which also included Harpis, Broot, Elu, Artin and Doc — found themselves involved in the affairs of Adam Strange. Strange was on the run from Thanagarians, who sought answers to the destrcution of the planet Rann. (In truth, the Thanagarians coveted Rann's Zeta Beam teleportation technology.) The Omega Men were also investigating Rann's supposed destruction and the Seer had predicted Adam's arrival. The Seer failed to predict a more sinister turn of events, however — one of the Thanagarians' allies, a Durlan, killed Doc and assumed his form to spy on them. (Adam Strange 4)

After returning home to Vega, they found that much of the Vegan system had already been converted to Lady Styx's new "religion" of subservience. Styx co-opted the name and power of the former Darkstars; her brainwashed and "zombified" acolytes also called themselves Darkstars. The Darkstars appeared to bring unity and peace to its followers, but this was a mask for the total annihilation of cultures with which she came into contact. Styx preached enlightenment by way of intolerance. Inevitably, Vega's self-styled "protectors," the Omega Men came to clash with the Darkstars on the remains of Tamaran. There, all but the five Omega Men (Tigorr, Broot, Ryand'r, Elu and Doc) were killed.

Notes

A creature that looks like Elu appeared on the cover of Omega Men #4, but this being was never named.

Elu's full name revealed: Lonocelu Ospho IN Omega Men #38.
